The company was founded in 2004 by Wolter Rattink Sr. who had been active in the development and commercialization of lignin products for over 30 years. The family-owned business currently comprises of LignoStar Group BV and LignoStar International BV. LignoStar International is a Dutch limited company that is concentrated on the international sales and distribution of lignin products. LignoStar Group BV is active in the overall R&D and new product development coordination in the field of lignin and other organic industrial additives. Together with strategic joint-venture partners, LignoStar is active worldwide in the distribution and development of lignin products.
